Jurgen Klopp has insisted Liverpool are mentally and physically prepared to face Manchester United this weekend.

Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp stated that his side is ready to face the inform Manchester United when they come to Old Trafford this weekend.

The historic Premier League rivals will meet for their latest clash at Anfield on Sunday, with the clubs on very different trajectories.

United are on a high with the club third in the Premier League and fresh from their Carabao Cup victory and FA Cup fifth round win over West Ham.

The Reds, meanwhile, are down in sixth and only have top four to aim for after being knocked out of the domestic cups and are on the precipise of Champions League elimination too.

But Liverpool won one of their games in hand against Wolves midweek in a timely boost for Klopp’s side, and the German says they are in a good place ahead of this mammoth encounter.

“When we met them last time, they were in a good moment, and that’s still the case,” he said this morning at his pre-match press conference.

“But physically we should be fine, mentally we will be fine – we won the last game, so why shouldn’t we?

“We’ve got nothing to moan about.

“We are OK and we are always looking forward to this game. Always when we face United it’s massive and in the last few years we’ve done quite well, but we know they are playing a much better season so far than us, but that means nothing.

“We have to make sure we’re ready for it, and that’s how we try to be.”
