Lawal believes Benin and Lesotho can’t match Super Eagle.
Former Super Eagle midfielder Garba Lawal has stated that Benin and Lesotho do not have the potential to stand the force of the Super Eagle in the forthcoming AFCON 2021 qualifiers.
However, Lawal has sent a warning to the team to avoid the kind of mistake they made the last time they played against Sierra Leone.
In an interview with Punch newspaper, Lawal believe that the Gernot Rohr side must be ruthless in their remaining games in order for them to qualify for the 2021 AFCON tournament.
“The players know it’s very important for them to win the game.
“Under normal circumstances, Benin and Lesotho are no match for Nigeria, but now everything is possible. We saw it against Sierra Leone and even the players couldn’t believe that they would play 4-4. Right now, football is unpredictable and it is the 90 minutes that will determine the winner.
“I believe they (players) don’t want to take any chances as they did against Sierra Leone. This means they must be ruthless in their next two games because no country is a pushover now in football.”
