LeBron James on Anthony Davis: ‘No matter what injury he had, his a– came back on the floor”
LeBron James opened up about Anthony Davis and how he became a different player compared to his time with the Pelicans.
James said Davis, unlike his time with New Orleans, was willing to play through injuries and not sit out to protect himself.
“I watched him a lot in New Orleans where he would get these little nagging injuries, and he would be out games. He would get the shoulder, or he would get the ankle, or he would get the bump, whatever, and he would sit out. This year, no matter what injury he had, his a– came back on the floor.
He was dealing with a severe foot problem in the bubble, and he played through it every single moment. And he did not like the fact, and I saw it, he didn’t have to tell me, he did not like the fact that they was out there or my dog, who he called me, is out there playing and I’m not out there,” James said during his appearance on the Road Trippin podcast, via Lakers Daily.
Davis played a total of 83 games last season for the Lakers (62 in the regular season and 21 in the playoffs), helping the team win the 2020 NBA title.
