Prematch: Manchester City vs Bournemouth, team news and prediction

0 27

This is the prematch analysis, team news and prediction for the premier league match between Manchester City and Bournemouth.

Manchester City will host the newly promoted side Bournemouth in the Premier League this weekend.

The Etihad side had a bright start in the League following their victory over West Ham in London.

Brace from new signing Erling Haaland secured the three points for Pep Guardiola’s side away from home.

Bournemouth also started the league with a win over Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa in their opening game.

Goals from Jefferson Lerma and Kieffer Moore gave the newly promoted side a deserved three points.

Team news

Man City would go into Saturday’s game with Aymeric Laporte as their only absentee as he recovers from knee surgery, and Guardiola did not pick up any fresh concerns at the London Stadium.

Bernardo Silva was notably left out of the starting lineup amid continued links with a switch to Barcelona, and it will be interesting to see whether he starts here after refusing to close the door on a summer exit from the Etihad.

As for Bournemouth, Parker is hopeful of welcoming Ryan Fredericks into the fold for the weekend as he recovers from a calf injury, but Joe Rothwell’s thigh problem will take a little bit longer to calm down.

David Brooks also remains on the comeback trail after his stage 2 Hodgkin lymphoma diagnosis last year and subsequent recovery, and Parker must decide whether to throw Neto and Senesi straight into the action in the most difficult domestic fixture of them all.

Possible line up

Manchester City possible starting lineup:
Ederson; Walker, Dias, Stones, Cancelo; Gundogan, Rodri, De Bruyne; Foden, Haaland, Grealish

Bournemouth possible starting lineup:
Travers; Smith, Kelly, Mepham, Lerma, Zemura; Tavernier, Pearson, Billing, Solanke; Moore

Sportscliffs Prediction

Manchester City 3-1 Bournemouth
