Ten Hag credit Super Eagles goalkeeper Uzoho
Super Eagles goal keeper Francis Uzoho receives praise from Erik Ten Hag for his performance against United in the Europa League.
Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag has shower praised on Super Eagles shot-stopper Francis Uzoho for his performance at Old Trafford.
Uzoho was in goal for Omonia Nicosia against the Red Devils for the second leg of the group stage in Europa League.
The goalkeeper made lots of saves to keep his team in the game before United midfielder Scott McTominay found a way to the back of the net in the 93rd minutes.
Speaking about the goal keeper performance last night Ten Hag said: “I said well done [to him. He made many, many saves and so many clear goals that did not go in and he kept them in the game. The performance in the box was good, but the finishing was not that good and let’s hope we can save the goals for the coming week!”
United got another three points to boost their hope of finishing top of the group but Ten Hag insists they need to take it one game at a time.
“I don’t know, we have to wait,” he responded, when asked about the importance of McTominay’s late winner.
“We still have two games to go, so [we have to] go from game to game.”
Ten Hag made an incredible change in the second half of the game but gave credits to all the players for keeping the faith alive.
“They [kept the faith] and that’s why they scored,” Ten Hag added.
“I have to compliment the team. We kept patient, kept getting in the right positions, kept creating chances and we didn’t allow the opponent to come out, so I think they did well. The performance was well done.”
