Tyson Fury Sets Sights on Third Usyk Fight in April
Tyson Fury set eyes on a third clash with Oleksandr Usyk after losing twice to the reigning Champion.
Former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has announced a third fight against unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, scheduled for April 18, 2026, at London’s Wembley Stadium, as revealed on Instagram on Thursday.
The news follows comments from Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority and Ring Magazine owner, who confirmed Fury’s return to the ring in 2026.
This comes after Fury’s latest retirement claim in January 2025, marking several such announcements in his career.
Fury, who lost both 2024 bouts to Usyk on points, is eager for revenge, telling media on Tuesday, “I want my revenge in England. That’s all I want.” He hinted that a Usyk trilogy is his priority, though a British megafight with Anthony Joshua remains a backup, promising, “It would sell out 100,000 at Wembley in an hour.” Media have reached out to Fury’s promoter, Queensberry, for further details.
Sergey Lapin, head of Team Usyk and Ready to Fight, confirmed the trilogy idea has been discussed since their second fight. In a statement to ESPN, he said, “I have never had any doubt that, together with Goldstar Promotions, we could turn it into a reality.”
However, Usyk’s focus remains on his July 19, 2025, undisputed title defense against Daniel Dubois at Wembley, aiming to become a three-time undisputed champion. Lapin added, “When this goal is accomplished… we’ll be open for the next round.”
The announcement has reignited excitement in the heavyweight division, with Fury’s pursuit of a fair shot contrasting his past losses. As plans solidify, fans await confirmation, with the Joshua alternative looming if negotiations falter.
