Burnley new signing Wout Weghorst has stated he will do everything to help his new side.

New Burnley signing Wout Weghorst insist he will do everything in his power to fire Burnley to safety.

Burnley signed Weghorst from German club Wolfsburg and confirms the forward will have No. 9 at the back of his jersey.

Speaking with media Weghorst said: “I am delighted to be here, and I can finally now say I am a Burnley footballer.

“The main for a striker is to score goals and it is something I am good at. I have achieved that throughout my entire career. I will do everything I can to deliver and score goals for Burnley Football Club.

“I have always wanted to play in the Premier League, to be a number nine and to be a striker. This is a great opportunity, and I can’t wait to get started this week.

“I will do everything to help the team be successful. I am a striker with a strong mentality, I score goals and that is my biggest quality. I am good in the penalty box and I can link up play.

“I spoke to people at the Club before I signed including the coaches and Ben Mee. There is so much positive energy, and we are confident going into the second half of the season.

“I can’t wait for Saturday after all of the talks, to now go and play football. I will train for the first time on Monday afternoon.

“I will give 100% for the Club and for the people here. I will always do my best and I will give everything with my heart and soul. I am a passionate player and I am sure they will all notice.

“I think this move is a nice fit and we will have a nice future together.”
