Real Madrid Manager Zinedine Zidane says his side would have gotten the three point if they have gotten the second goal earlier before Elche’s equalizer.
Real Madrid played 1-1 draw with Elche in La Liga last night leaving the 2 points behind League leaders Atletico Madrid with 2 games at hand.
The French man stated that they created a number of chances in the first half for them to get a second goal but his players failed to find the back of the net and further stated that they became frustrated after Elche’s penalty was converted in the second half.
“A second goal. We had the chances to have scored the second goal in the first half and that would have allowed us to be more relaxed, but we didn’t manage to do so. They then ended up scoring and were very strong defensively,” Zidane said.
“We created a number of chances in the first half to have got that second goal, which would have allowed us to be more relaxed, but when they got the equalizer, everything became that bit more difficult for us.”
They dropped deeper and we struggled in the second half. That’s just the way things go in football and we’ve got to keep going. If you look at the first half, it’s a case of two points dropped, but we have to keep on working hard.”
On the other hand, Casemiro says they wanted to continue their winning run in the League but they failed to do that after the draw but insist that there is a long way to go in the League.
“We were on a winning run and we wanted to continue that today. We didn’t manage to do that, but there’s a long way to go in the league. That’s football. We started well and created chances to score more goals, but the opposition had a game plan and managed to score against us.”
