Mikel Arteta has given update on his right back Takehiro Tomiyasu ahead  of their clash against Manchester United.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that the Gunners left back Takehiro Tomiyasu will be available for the clash against Manchester United tomorrow.

Tomiyasu didn’t feature in their victory against Chelsea at the Stamford bridge due to his injury.

Arteta side will host the Red devils who suffer defeat to Liverpool in the midweek as they continue their top four race.

Tomiyasu has not featured for Arsenal since January, playing 90 minutes as the Gunners fell to a 2-0 second-leg defeat to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.

Since then, he has suffered a thigh strain in each leg, keeping him sidelined for over 2 months.

Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta has confirmed that there are no new injuries aside from the Japanese international.

“If he trains today and he feels good then he will be available tomorrow yes”, Arteta said of Tomiyasu’s availability.

When asked if there are fresh injury Arteta said: “No, we haven’t really trained. We had a recovery session yesterday and today we are training late in the stadium because obviously the turn around is again, what they did to us a few weeks ago, so the best way is to try to train as late as possible to be able to do something before the match.”

Meanwhile, Manchester United have a boost as forward Cristiano Ronaldo will be available for the clash at Emirate.

The forward scored 2 goals in the last match against Arsenal at Old Trafford in the Premier League this season.
