Carlo Ancelotti believes Karim Benzema is motivated ahead of the second half of the season following is brace against Valladolid in the La Liga game as he urge fans to expect a different player in the French man next year.
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has told fans to expect a different player in Karim Benzema in the second half of the season.
The French striker missed the World cup due to injury but was motivated as the La Liga holder resume their title defence.
Benzema scored two goals in the second half of the game to help his side claim victory in the game against Valladolid.
Speaking about the French striker and the goal keeper Thibaut Courtois the former Everton manager said: “Both Courtois and Benzema put in a great performance, and Benzema was amongst the goals once again. An unforgettable year is coming to an end in style. We have to keep moving forward slowly to get all the players back to good shape”.
“Courtois and Benzema were key, as well as the work of the whole team. Hazard will play in the next game,” Ancelotti added. “This was useful for Benzema. I looked at it before this game, I knew he could be important today and he was. He’s motivated and full of confidence. We’re going to see a different Karim in the second half of the season than in the first half”.
Speaking about the game Ancelotti admitted that his side faced difficult test against the Valladolid side.
“It was a tough game against a side that grew into the game. We did well in the first half, controlling the game. Valladolid performed well and made it a competitive game. The team wasn’t solid enough, but we came away with three points from this difficult game”.
The Real Madrid side are now top of the La Liga table but has played more games than second play Barcelona in the League.
