Silva surprise with Haaland hunger for goals
Bernardo Silva is shocked by the hunger Erling Haaland has for scoring more goals as he believes the former Dortmund player is never satisfied, the Portuguese also expects a tough test against Everton when the Mersyside team visit Etihad.
Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva is surprised by the attitude of fellow player Erling Haaland with his goalscoring ability.
The former Dortmund player top the goalscoring chart with 20 goals as he is on the verge to win the Premier League golden boot.
Haaland scored a brace in Manchester City last outing against Leeds United to help his side secure the win.
Despite his goalscoring form the Norwegian is still focused and hungry for more which has come as a surprised for fellow player Bernardo Silva.
“To have that kind of player who is so focused on just the end of the product is great because he knows what he is there for and he does it perfectly,” Bernardo said of Haaland.
“Just the hunger that he has to score more and more and more. You saw that he scored two [against Leeds] and he wasn’t happy because he could have scored more in that game.
“It is just crazy because any other player if they scored two goals would be over the moon, but he was happy and not totally happy because he felt he could have scored more which shows how ambitious he is, how focused he is to help the team and to be better every day. I am very happy we have a player like that.”
Manchester City will host Everton in the Premier League and Bernardo Silva expect a tough test from a side that is threatened by relegation.
“Everton is always a difficult game because even when they are not doing very well, it is a physical team and they have a big team mentality,” he said.
“We have suffered in the past against them. We are not going to take it easy, we are going to take this game seriously against them because we know how difficult it is to play against a team with so many quality players like Everton.”
