Raptors president ‘confident’ Pascal Siakam will be dominant this season
Pascal Siakam will dominate his opponents this season, according to the president of the Toronto Raptors, Masai Ujiri.
Ujiri said Siakam was not at his very best in the Orlando “bubble”, but he is now enjoying the game again.
“Pascal didn’t enjoy the game (in the bubble). I don’t think he was himself. Just seeing him here, I know it’s going to be different. He’s back enjoying himself.
You can tell he’s learned from that experience. I’m confident we’ll get our old Pascal back,” Ujiri told reporters on Saturday, via Josh Lewenberg of TSN Sports.
Siakam had an excellent season prior to the NBA suspension in March 2020, averaging 23.6 points per game. However, his numbers dropped to 17 points in the playoffs and 14.9 in the playoff series against the Boston Celtics.
Siakam is entering the first year of his four-year, $130M contract he has signed with the Raptors. For its part, Toronto will play its home games in Tampa Bay, Florida this season, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
