Markieff Morris says the Lakers were the right place for him
Markieff Morris opened up about his decision to re-sign with the defending champions Los Angeles Lakers.
Morris said the Lakers were the best place for him and that’s why he chose to remain with the team. He also addressed the rumors regarding the interest of the Los Angeles Clippers to sign him and pair with his brother Marcus.
“It was a crazy free agency and I just felt like this was the best place for me. I get to be a free agent next year, we’re gonna try and most likely back-to-back it and that’s what the whole thing is about man, trying to win this championship and I was back on board for that.
The Clippers situation, that was just talk, man. They’re trying to scare the Lakers fans,” Morris said, via Christian Rivas of the Silver Screen and Roll.
Markieff Morris agreed to an one-year, $2.6M deal with the Lakers. Meanwhile, Marcus Morris signed a four-year contract with the Clippers, worth $64M.
