Atletico Madrid beat Elche 3-1 in their home as Luis Suarez brace and Costa goal gave them 3 points to remain on top of LaLiga table
Suarez gave Atletico the lead in the 41st minute as his slightest touch turn a low cross from Kieran Trippier into the back of the net.
Suarez scored his second goal of the game after he received pleasant low pass from Yannick Carrasco in the 58th for his ninth goal of the season, taking him joint top of the scoring charts alongside Celta Vigo’s Iago Aspas and Real Sociedad’s Mikel Oyarzabal.
Elche got themselves back in the game with a header from Lucas Boye in the 64th following a well-worked corner routine but substitute Diego Costa sealed the points for Atletico by winning and converting a penalty in the 80th.
Simone’s men still remain top of the league table moving three point clear Real Sociedad and Real Madrid and still having two games at hand.
