Ole doubt Mctominay and Shaw availability in midweek’s clash against Everton.

Ole Gunner Solskjaer gave an update for his left back Luke Shaw and the history breaker Scott McTominay after both players were forced off during their win over Leeds United in the Premier League this weekend.

The academy graduate scored twice in the early three minute of the game and also provided an assist for Daniel James to score the fifth goal in the match but was unable to complete the game, limping off holding his groin in injury time to leave the Reds down to 10 men for the final seconds, having made all three substitutions.

On the other hand, Shaw was substituted making way for Alex Telles around the hour-mark and heading straight for the dressing room.

It appears that both could miss the midweek Carabao Cup quarter-final against the in-form Everton, as the Reds look to knock out the Toffees in front of their 2,000 fans at Goodison Park on Wednesday.

When asked if they were doubts, Ole said.

“Yeah, I would think so. Luke has been ill for a few days and was only passed fit this morning. He didn’t train yesterday.

“Scott, it seemed like a groin issue. I don’t know. Hopefully, it won’t be too long as he’s not had any muscle injuries before. But I don’t know how quickly he will recover.”

The Reds boss is carefully utilizing the workload of his squad due to the hectic fixture schedule – following the Everton clash, their Premier League games is at second-placed Leicester City on Boxing Day.

At least Edinson Cavani made his return from a groin problem, coming off the bench and almost getting on the scoresheet when forcing a save out of Illan Meslier in the closing stages.
