Adrian Wojnarowski explains Paul George’s extension with Clippers and what it means for Kawhi Leonard
ESPN’s sports analyst Adrian Wojnarowski joined Rachel Nichols on The Jump to discuss small forward Paul George’s new four-year extension with the Los Angeles Clippers and what it means for team leader Kawhi Leonard. He also talks about James Harden’s trade situation with the Houston Rockets.
George is already set to make $35.4 million in 2020-21, and this new deal – worth roughly $190 million in total – will now tack on an additional four years to his contract, tying him to the Clippers through at least the 2023-24 season.
George averaged 21.5 points on a career-high 41.2% shooting, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.9 assists in the regular season. He averaged 18.5 points on 34.7% in the Clippers’ first-round series against the Dallas Mavericks and attributed that partly to struggles with mental health.
