Anthony Martial has captured the heart of Erik Ten Hag but still needs to work on his availability.

Manchester United forward Anthony Martial has captured the heart of his manager Erik Ten Hag with his style of play but needs to work on being available to help the team.

The French man who was loaned to Sevilla last season returned with lots of motivation under a new manager.

Though, Anthony Martial has not been too available for selection this season due to injury but has been effective when called upon.

The former Monaco player got an assists against Liverpool when he came on in the second half in the Premier League this season.

He then got a goal against Aston Villa in the Carabao cup after he led the line ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Speaking about the French man Ten Hag said: ”But, [be] quite clear, in my way of playing I like the type [of player] Antony Martial is, because he can hold the ball.

”He is a [also] a target, he can link up, but he can also run behind.

”He has speed, he can finish, and he has good pressure [presses well].”

The former Ajax manager also spoke about the availability of the player and other option he has at hand: “Definitely, he plays very well in a lot of aspects of football. I’m happy with that, except his availability [after injury].

”But I think we also have others – when we played with Marcus Rashford as a no.9, we also had a good part of the game.

”So we have more options [in attack], and we also have Cristiano Ronaldo.”
