Borussia Dortmund willing to keep Bellingham

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has insisted the club have a chance at keeping Jude Bellingham this summer.

The England international Jude Bellingham has been on the radar of Liverpool and has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent weeks with reports claiming a deal has already been agreed.

But Kehl has now suggested that may not be the case, with the BVB chief refusing to rule out Bellingham staying or even extending his contract.

“There is no opt-out clause and he also has two years left on his contract, so he has value for us and that would have to be achieved,” he said.

“There were phases when I had the feeling that he wasn’t staying. Then I had the feeling that he was definitely staying. The race around him will pick up speed again after the season.

“I don’t see us without a chance yet, because I also believe that if you become German champion this year and show that you are very ambitious in Germany and beat Bayern, that is also a sign.”

The title race in Germany is going right now to the wire, with only one point separating current leaders Bayern Munich and Dortmund in second place with just two games left to play.
