CAF doping officer Dr. Joseph Kabungo lost his life following angry fans invasion on the pitch in the Nigeria vs Ghana match in Abuja.

CAF doping officer Dr. Joseph Kabungo has been confirmed dead following an invasion from fan in Abuja Stadium in the World Cup qualifier defeat of the Super Eagles to Ghana, reported by completesports.

It was reported that he was allegedly beaten and stepped on when the ugly scene happened at Abuja.

The Black Stars of Ghana qualified for the World Cup in Qatar after playing a 1-1 draw in the Abuja Stadium last night.

The Ghanian team qualified on away goal after Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey scored the opening goal in the match.

Ekong spot kick for the Super Eagles was not enough to seal the qualifications for the Super Eagles.

Following the final whistle from the referee angry fans invaded the stadium and destroyed some of the facilities.

According to a Ghanaian sports journalist Collins Atta Poku on Twitter:”They beat him, he fell and they throded on him. He lost consciousness was rushed to an ambulance closer to the Ghana dressing for CPR.

“The entire Ghanaian contingent watched on as resuscitation attempts were made with oxygen mask. He was taken to hospital later and now this. Sad.”

This is the first time the Eagles will fail to qualify for the World Cup since missing out on the 2006 edition in Germany.
