Declan Rice has dropped out of England squad due to illness.
West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice has dropped out of England squad due to illness as he will miss the World cup qualifier.
Rice will now miss the World Cup qualifiers against Albania and San Marino after being unable to train since his arrival at St George’s Park.
The England team have no plan to make additions to the squad after Rice withdrawal.
The West Ham player is the latest player to withdraw from the squad after Marcus Rashford and James Ward-Prowse.
Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe has replaced them, earning his first call up to the England senior side.
Chelsea’s midfielder Mason Mount and United’s left back Luke Shaw are yet to report to St George’s Park, but have not been ruled out of this month’s World Cup qualifiers.
A statement from the FA read: “Having been unable to train due to illness since reporting to St George’s Park, the midfielder has returned to West Ham United and will play no part in the forthcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
“No additions to the squad are planned at this moment in time. Mason Mount and Luke Shaw are still yet to link up with the group and continue to be assessed following dental surgery and concussion respectively.”
