Everton new signing Dele Alli has been backed to rediscover his form under new manager Frank Lampard.

Talksports broadcaster Jason Cundy has backed Dele Alli to rediscover form at new club Everton.

The England international sealed a Deadline Day move away from Spurs to end his seven-year career in north London.

He joins a Toffees side who recently announced Chelsea legend Lampard as their new manager.

Cundy told the Sports Bar: “It wasn’t that long ago, Dele Alli had a really fabulous season where he couldn’t stop scoring.

“He was arriving in the box and scoring those Frank Lampard-esque goals.

“I don’t know what’s happened to him, but that’s tailed off in a big way.

“Clearly he had to move away from Spurs, but I just wonder whether Frank sees a little bit of himself in Dele Alli.

“Maybe he can mould him, or give him an opportunity to go on and be that player again.”

Meanwhile, Dele Alli is relishing the opportunity to work with new Everton manager Frank Lampard as the England midfielder attempts to revive his career on Merseyside.

“I’ve had a few good conversations with him (Lampard) already and he’s a player I’ve admired watching his whole career,” Alli told Sky Sports.

“To get the opportunity to work with him now is very exciting and I’m sure we’re going to do great things together.

“I just want to be happy playing football and working with Lampard and the great players they’ve got there.

“I think it’s is a great opportunity to do that. I’m excited to go there and show the fans what I can do and help the club as much as I can.”
