Erik Ten Hag has been warned concerning his job at Manchester United.

It is no news that Manchester United have announced Ajax manager Erik Ten Hag has the new manager of the club for next season.

The Dutch man will replace interim manager Ralf Rangnick at the club next season as the German will move to a move advance role at the club.

Ahead of his work at Old Trafford Erik Ten Hag has been warned by fellow compatriot Van Basten not to listen to the media when he gets there.

The English media has been known for criticism over the years and Ten Hag has been advised to focus on his job at Manchester United.

“I will give Erik one piece of advice: don’t listen to the media when you start there,” Van Basten said.

“He will have such a massive focus on his own job, on his work on the training ground and on the team. And when he does that, I am sure he can change everything at United.”

The Dutch man has been told not to drop Manchester United top scorer this season Cristiano Ronaldo when he gets to the club.

There are romours that the Portuguese is not part of the plan of Erik Ten Hag and might move away from the club this summer.

But Ajax manager has been told to trust Ronaldo as long as he score goals for the team then he is good to be part of the team.

“If Ronaldo carries on playing like he did last week [against Norwich] and scores two or three goals in a match on a regular basis, there is no need to take him out of the team,” he added.

“Ronaldo is a player who does his own thing, but as long as he delivers, you have to give him a place in the team.

“Ten Hag will take into account that he cannot ask the same things physically from Cristiano Ronaldo that he will be asking of an 18-year-old.

“Of course Ronaldo will need to work hard – but I am sure he will work hard because I can see Ten Hag having an influence on him to get him to play how he wants.”
