Eriksen insists Man United will respond after defeat
Christian Eriksen insists Manchester United will bounce back after their 1-0 defeat to the Hammers.
Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen says the team will respond positively following their disappointing result in agains West Ham.
Despite starting the game on the front foot and hitting the woodwork twice United were unable to find the back of the net.
“We had the team and we had the qualities. We should have bounced back and we will,” Eriksen said.
United no.14 believes there has been a running theme of not taking chances in narrow losses, saying: “I think we started the game well and felt we were in a good position to really get a grip on the game.
“I think it’s been a theme in a lot of the games we’ve lost or games we’ve played this season. We’ve had a lot of chances to finish the games early which, unluckily, we haven’t done. You can see that today.
“Teams in the Premier League are tough and are good enough to punish us if we don’t take them.”
Despite United extensive run of games, Eriksen doesn’t think it’s too much of a contributing factor to our dip in form: “I don’t think so. I think you get into a rhythm of playing the games.
“This season is coming to an end but I still think we’ve got the energy to push and energy to win the games.
“I’m sure for the next five games we’ll have the energy to finish in a strong way.”
