Harry Maguire to continue as Manchester United captain

Erik Ten Hag has stated that Harry Maguire will continue as Manchester United captain.

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire will continue as the club captain has this was confirmed by Erik Ten Hag.

The former Leicester defender was made the captain of the Red Devils by Ole Gunner Solskjaer after his transfer to the club in 2019.

Speaking with the media ahead of their preseason match against Liverpool on Tuesday the Dutch confirm that Maguire will continue as the captain.

Ten Hag statetd that he needs time to get to know other players which he believe with take time.

He added that the England international is a well established captain who has the experience as club captain.

“Harry Maguire is the captain”,Ten Hag said in his press conference. Erik was then asked to explain why he is right for the role

“Of course, I have to get to know all the players and it takes time,” said the Dutch.

“But he is an established captain for a few years and he has achieved a lot of success, so I don’t doubt about this issue.”

Manchester United are without forward Cristiano Ronaldo in Thailand due to family issue.

Though Ten Hag has stated that the club is not willing to sell the Portuguese star this summer despite interest from top European club like Chelsea, Bayern Munich and also Barcelona.
