Ole believes his team has improve and can progress into the final of the Carabao Cup.
Manchester United boss Ole Gunner Solskjaer says that his team have improved and develop to get progress into the final of the Carabao cup and also hope they will get their hands on the trophy.
The Reds are set to play Manchester City in the Carabao cup later today and the Norwegian have the confidence that his team can beat Pep Guardiola’s side.
“I think so yeah, both in the development of the team and for our fans as well, that we are believing, we are hoping now that we get closer to a trophy and get our hands on that trophy.”
“We are better than what we were six months ago in Europe, or the FA Cup semi or definitely a year back when we got to the Carabao Cup semi. We’ve improved, we have developed and hopefully we’ve developed enough to go all the way to the final.”
The Reds boss further stated that the spirit of the team is now high after the win against Aston Villa in the premier league and also talked about Eric Baily’s contribution in the team.
“Eric speaks many languages so he’s one that connects people. We know Eric has had a tough few season with injuries, and tough spells, but he always gives 100 per cent.”
“He gives everything for his team-mates. He’s one of those that you want in your team, you want in your side if there’s a battle going on. He’s just a very likeable person.”
“You see the harmony and unity in the group. I believe this is going to be important this season, with the fixture congestion and the schedule, that players know they have the chance and possibility to contribute – and they will contribute throughout the season. Eric has played the last four now and he’s been absolutely top.”
Ole also stated that they have a lot of time to prepare ahead of the derby and also have a strong squad to pick from aside the suspended Edinson Cavani who will not feature in the game.
“Yeah, they’re bright. They had a couple of days of recovery, not recovery, but [it’s been] lighter. We’ve had a couple of days to prepare. Of course, the training is just after we’re talking, so we haven’t had the training this morning. Victor [Lindelof] has been training, he’s been with us. Edinson [Cavani] is suspended. Apart from that we have a very strong squad to choose from.”
