Ole Gunner Solskjaer hails squad strong mentality ahead of clash against Aston Villa.
Manchester United boss Ole Gunner Solskjaer hails the mentality of his players ahead of the clash against Aston Villa after finishing second in the Premier League table in 2020.
Manchester United got a late win in a tough match against Wolves on Tuesday after Marcus Rashford’s shot was deflected by Romain Saïss into his own net in the 93rd minute of the game to hand the Reds a massive three points.
Ole stated that his players are focus and the position they currently are give them the boost needed.
“I think it is to keep on focusing on the next day, the next game, the next training session; do what you can to recover in-between games, come in and do your best every single day and then the performances will come. Performances will lead to results.”
“You know, when you are getting closer, that gives you a boost and it gives you extra focus. The good thing about this group is that some of them have won before so they are not going to get too far ahead of themselves. We know that the only way to do it is to take one game at a time. I know that is quite a boring statement, but that is the good thing about this group – they are not going to think we have cracked it because in any game in this league, you have got to be at it and that’s why we have a big, strong squad.”
Manchester United are currently in the second position, three points behind league leader Liverpool with a game at hand and they will look to keep on the winning mentality when the host the in-form Aston Villa later today.
