Pau Gasol says returning to the Lakers and playing with his brother Marc ‘would be very special’

Pau Gasol opened up about the possibility of returning to the Los Angeles Lakers and playing with his brother Marc Gasol.

Gasol, who has not played in the NBA since 2019 due to injury, said it ‘would be very special’ if he came back to the Lakers and played with Marc.

“There is meaning and history there. I’m not going to lie. It would be very special, and now that my brother [Marc] is there, even more special. But I’m not in a position now to be very demanding. I don’t have 10 offers on the table.

I want the opportunity to contribute — to feel needed. Not just to be there. That’s not who I am. I want to enjoy it, and players usually enjoy playing,” Gasol told Zach Lowe of ESPN.

Pau Gasol spent six years with the Lakers (2008-2014), winning the NBA title twice (2009, 2010). His brother Marc joined the defending champions in free agency and signed a two-year deal, worth $5,2M.
