  1. Luke Shaw: Shaw is an English professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Premier League club Manchester United and the England national team. In June 2014, Shaw was signed by Manchester United for £30 million, then a world record transfer fee for a teenager. On 15 September 2015, when, during the opening match of the Champions League group stage against PSV, Shaw was caught by Héctor Moreno with a sliding tackle and suffered a double leg fracture. Shaw was given oxygen and treated by nine medical staff during the nine-minute stoppage in Eindhoven before he was taken off on a stretcher and taken to hospital. Shaw was out of action for six months, before returning to training on 4 April 2016.

  1. Alan Smith: Smith is an English football coach and retired professional footballer who last played for Notts County. He has also represented the England national team, winning 19 caps. Smith was known for his aggressive on pitch mentality and high pressing style of football. Smith broke his leg and dislocated his ankle in a match against Liverpool, Sir Alex Ferguson described the injury as one of the worst injuries he’d ever seen.

  1. Djibril Cisse: Cisse is a French former professional footballer who played as a forward. Cisse’s first leg break happened at Ewood Park while playing for the Reds, He nearly had to have foot amputated following the nasty injury against Blackburn. If quick action had not been taken by the medical staffs then there was a real risk his leg would have been amputated.

  1. Eduardo da Silva: Eduardo is a Croatian former professional footballer. Capable of playing any forward position, he started as a striker, but was deployed mostly as a winger or second striker during the last few years of his career. Eduardo suffered a terrible leg break following a tackle by Birmingham’s Martin Taylor. He broke his left fibula, the striker’s injury was further complicate by an open dislocation of his let ankle.

  1. Petr Cech: Cech is a Czech former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Čech sustained a head injury in the match against Reading at the Madejski Stadium on 14 October 2006 when he collided with Reading midfielder Stephen Hunt inside Chelsea’s penalty area within the first minute of a Premier League match. Hunt’s right knee hit Čech’s head, leaving the goalkeeper requiring treatment. Čech underwent surgery for a depressed skull fracture. Initially unaware of the seriousness of the injury, the doctors later reported that it nearly cost Čech his life, and as a result of the collision, he suffered intense headaches.
