Real Madrid will seek to neutralize Leipzig attack

Leipzig was impressive during their midweek game against Dortmund and Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti believes his side will try seek to defend well against the German club.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has stated that his side will seek to neutralize the attack of German side Leipzig when they meet.

Real Madrid will host Leipzig at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium in the Champions League as they continue their group stage game.

Leipzig lost their first Champions League match to Sharkhter Donetsk at home and will seek to get their first win.

The German team new manager Marco Rose led his side to 3-0 win against Dortmund in the Bundesliga.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid got their first win in the Champions League against Scottish side Celtic away from.

Speaking with the media ahead of the Champions League match Ancelotti said:  “It’s an important game in terms of group qualification. Leipzig have had problems at the beginning of the season, but they played very well in their last game against Dortmund, hey’ve got a lot of quality and speed up front we’ll try to put in a good performance and win the game”.

“Leipzig have a very dangerous forward line. Not just Werner. Nkunku played very well last season and he’s playing very well this season too. Szoboszlai too. Forsberg is very experienced. They’re a very dangerous team if you give them the chance to show their quality. It’s going to be very important for us to defend well tomorrow, but also to play well in attack”.

The former Everton manager also had his say on Eden Hazard form as the Belgian as been able to cover up for Karim Benzema that suffered injury.

“He’s doing what we asked of him over the last two games”, the Real Madrid boss said. “We’ve been able to cover Karim’s absence with Hazard in the first game and the first half of the second game and with Rodrygo in the second game.

Hazard performed well and so did the team. That’s the most important thing. The team has performed because we’ve scored seven goals without Karim”.

Ancelotti also reveal when his injured forward Benzema will be back: “He’s coming along well and there’s a chance he’ll be back for Sunday. He could play against Atlético if there are no doubts”.
