Oleksandr Usyk says he was stopped not to have knockout Anthony Joshua.

Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk says he was stopped by his trainer not to have knocked out Anthony Joshua.

Usyk got it right against British boxer after he claims the world heavyweight champion but insist he wanted to knock out Joshua.

He stated that he was hitting Joshua hard in other to knock him out but was advised by his team to change his tactics.

He said: “I had no objective to knock him out because my trainer, in my corner, pushed me not to do that.

“In the beginning I hit him hard and tried to knock him out. But then my trainer said: ‘Just stop, and do your job’.”

Sportscliffs reported earlier that Anthony Joshua says he is ready for a rematch against Usyk.

Hearn, who is Matchroom boxing promoter says that the Briton wants to hit the gym right away.

There is a rematch clause included in the contract and Anthony Joshua will seek to reclaim his title back.
