Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has revealed his plans for the coming season as the team get prepare in preseason tour.
The Sweden international is part of the teams on tour for United and also took part in the two friendly matches that ended in victory for the Red Devils.
Lindelof added that the players are enjoying the training under manager Erik Ten Hag and also admits that it has been very intense.
Speaking about his plans for the coming season the defender said: “I think that’s also great, with the tour, because obviously you spend a lot of time together with all of the guys and I think it is great for the team spirit to go away on tour because, like I said, we spent a lot of time together.
“But yeah, of course, to be with the guys and build up a nice team spirit before the season starts and then of course the fitness level. So yeah, just work on my football.”
Manchester United have their academy players taking part in the friendly games in tour and Lindelof claims the senior players are doing their best to support them.
“Of course, it’s always nice to travel with the team and see different places and to meet fans all round the world. It really shows how big this club is. It doesn’t matter where we go, there’s always going to be a lot of fans there to support us.
“ For the young guys, it’s a great experience for them to be here and to learn and to work with the coach and everything. Yeah, I’m just trying to support and tell them to enjoy it and do their thing.”
Manchester United got their first preseason win against a Premier League side Liverpool and also defeated Melbourne Victoria in their second friendly.
Lindelof believe playing strong opponents in preseason will help them in kicking starting their campaign for the new season.
“I think it is always good to play against good opponents. The better the opponents, the better. I think it is going to be good.”
Manchester United will kick start their Premier League campaign against Brighton, a team they suffered heavy defeat in their second leg game last season.
Lindelof said everyone are looking forward to the game and not just that but every game they play in the new season.
“Yeah, of course, I mean just to go out on the pitch at Old Trafford in front of our fans to play a game and wear the shirt it is an amazing feeling. So, of course, everyone is looking forward to that and we are doing everything we can to prepare the best we can for that game and for the rest of the season.”
