Arteta motivated to overtake Chelsea’s third position
Mikel Arteta is motivated that his side can catch up with Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea in third position of the Premier League.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta motivated that his side can overtake Chelsea in third position in the Premier League.
The Gunners won a tough match against West Ham United to cement their fourth position in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Chelsea lost their away game against a relegation threatened team Everton at Goodison park stadium.
The Gunners are not three points behind Chelsea on the League table and mathematically possible of overtaking the Blues.
“Well, mathematically everything is open so”, Arteta said after their win against West Ham, we’re going to have to go to Leeds and win again because everybody is going to put pressure because everybody wants to play in the position that we are right now.
“We have to handle that and we have a great opportunity and that willingness and motivation that we have is driving us to continue to do something.”
Arteta further stated that his players are not under any form of pressure but insists they were just sloppy in the game as it is not easy to play against this tough teams.
“I think when you have to pass the ball from A to B under pressure or under no pressure, I think this is an excuse, today we were just sloppy at times, imprecise and that led to a game that we didn’t want to play in in many moments, but we recognise that and sometimes it happens, to play here against this team is not easy at all, and we found another way to win the match today.”
