Calvin Bassey has been impressive following his move to Dutch team Ajax, keeping clean sheets in the league and also effective in the Champions League.
Nigerian star Calvin Bassey has been making beautiful impact at Ajax after he moved from Rangers this summer.
The defender made moved from Scottish team Ranger to Dutch team Ajax on a five-year contract for a deal worth just under £23m.
The fee is £19.6m (€23m) but with add-ons could rise to £22.7m (€26.5m) with the deal also thought to include a 10 per cent sell-on fee.
The Nigeria defender is a product of Leicester City’s youth system but didn’t make a senior appearance for the club before joining Rangers on a free transfer in July 2020.
On his debut for the club in the 2022 Johan Cruyff Shield (Dutch Super Cup) on 31 July 2022, he received a direct red card 15 minutes after coming on as a substitute.
Calvin Bassey made his full debut for Ajax against Sparta Rotterdam and kept his team keep a clean sheet in the game following a 1-0 win.
He also kept his place in the starting XI for the Dutch champion against Utrecht along side Timber and also got a win and a clean sheet.
The defender has been out standing for the Dutch team with his performance as he made his Champions League debut against his former side Rangers.
