Liverpool Star Diogo Jota and Brother Killed in Tragic Car Crash

Liverpool star Diogo Jota, 28, and his brother Andre were killed in a car crash on the A-52 in the Spanish province of Zamora early Thursday, according to reports from Marca.

The incident occurred at kilometer 65 in the municipality of Cernadilla, where emergency services confirmed the vehicle veered off the road and caught fire.

The 1-1-2 Castilla y León operations room received multiple calls reporting the accident. A statement read, “A car was reported to have been involved in an accident and the vehicle was on fire.”

The Zamora Traffic Police, Zamora Provincial Council Fire Brigade, and Sacyl Emergency Coordination Center were notified, dispatching a Medical Emergency Unit and Primary Care Medical Staff from the Mombuey Health Center, who confirmed the deaths of two individuals at the scene.

Jota, a Portuguese international, had been with Liverpool for five years since joining from Wolves in 2020, scoring 65 goals in 182 appearances.

He won the Premier League title with the club and began his career at Pacos de Ferreira, later playing for Atletico Madrid and on loan at Porto. The football world mourns the loss of the talented forward and his brother.
