Wolves Manager Nuno says referee Lee Mason is not good enough to be a Premier League referee.
Wolves Manager Nuno Espirito Santos says Premier League referee Lee Mason doesn’t have the quality to be an official in the League, he said this after the defeat again Burley on Monday night.
Burley moved out of relegation after they beat Wolves 2-1 which made Nuno vent his anger on how Mason officiated the match, he claims he makes player get nervous and also make crucial mistakes.
“Honestly I don’t like to say it, but I must say it because I will not feel right: the referee does not have the quality to whistle a game in the Premier League”; Wolves lost 2-1 at Burnley in Premier League” Nuno said after the game.
“This is a problem that we knew. We already had Lee Mason before. It is not about the crucial mistakes or the decisions, it is about the way that he handles the game.”
“The players get nervous. Too much voices. He whistles by the voices when some players shout. He does not have [it]. We are talking about the best competition and clearly, he does not have the quality to whistle the game.
“I am very disappointed to say this, really disappointed to say it, but I would not feel right if I did not say it. It happened before.”
The Portuguese further stated that he wishes Lee Mason does officiate their game again because of their game handled by him are the same, he feels he doesn’t control players as both team player argue constantly which affect the flow of the game.
