Alisson Out Until Mid-November with Hamstring Injury

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker is set to miss action until mid-November after suffering a hamstring injury in the team’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace, with Caoimhin Kelleher expected to step in.

Liverpool’s goalkeeper Alisson Becker is expected to be sidelined until at least mid-November due to a hamstring injury sustained during the team’s recent 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace. The Brazil international was substituted after 79 minutes, with Vitezslav Jaros stepping in for the remainder of the match.

Liverpool do not anticipate Alisson’s return before the upcoming international break, which follows the league fixtures scheduled for the weekend of November 9-10. During his absence, the Premier League leaders will face key matches against Chelsea, Arsenal, Brighton, and Aston Villa in the league. Additionally, they will contend with RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League and face Brighton again in the League Cup.

Caoimhin Kelleher, who missed the Palace game due to illness, is expected to take over as Liverpool’s first-choice goalkeeper during this period. Kelleher had previously filled in for Alisson during his injury spell in September, contributing to a league win over Bournemouth and a League Cup victory against West Ham.

“It is quite clear then that he (Kelleher) is the number two,” said Liverpool boss Arne Slot following the game at Selhurst Park.

“Otherwise, the last time Alisson was injured I would have played Vit, but I played Caoimhin. So Caoimhin is the number two and did really well.”
