It is a big boost for Liverpool as midfielder is set to return to training ahead of the Champions League clash against Real Madrid in Paris.

Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara is set to resume training with teammates ahead of the Champions League clash against Real Madrid.

The former Bayern Munich star was forced of their final match in their Premier League victory against Wolves on Sunday.

Ahead of their clash with La Liga Champions in French capital Paris this weekend Jurgen Klopp is hopeful Alcantara will be available for selection.

Asked for an update on the No.6’s chances of featuring, the manager said today: “I only met him now inside… a good chance. So he will be training this afternoon.

“He did some stuff this morning, it was not planned that he was doing this session with the players. In the moment, it looks like he can be part of training tomorrow. That would be pretty helpful obviously and then we go from there.

“It’s surprisingly good. After the game [on Sunday] I was not really positive about it but we got news then that night already that it doesn’t look that bad and from there we went. Now we will see.

“I can imagine everybody thinks now, ‘Three days before a game, cannot train…’ But we just have to be sure we do the right stuff in the right moment and that’s what we try.”

Liverpool have two silverware at hand (the league cup and the FA cup) and they are on the verge to make it three for this year.
