Chelsea and Manchester United have agreed terms for Mason Mount to move to Old Trafford.

According to reports, Mason Mount, the 24-year-old midfielder, has reportedly reached an agreement on a five-year contract with Manchester United. The deal also includes an option for Mount to extend his stay at Old Trafford for an additional year.

Mount’s departure from Chelsea stems from failed negotiations with his childhood club regarding a new contract. The Blues were unwilling to meet his wage demands, as he sought parity with some of the highest-earning players at the club.

Consequently, Chelsea, who are working to adhere to Financial Fair Play regulations following Todd Boehly’s significant investments since taking over, were open to selling the English international during this summer transfer window.

For Chelsea, a sale of Mount for £60 million would be recorded as a 100 percent profit, considering that he emerged from their own academy. This transaction would greatly contribute to Chelsea’s efforts to improve their financial standing.
