Anthony Joshua is set to challenge Daniel Dubois for the IBF world heavyweight title at Wembley Stadium on September 21. This high-stakes bout follows Joshua’s knockout victory over Francis Ngannou in March, while Dubois recently halted Filip Hrgovic earlier this month.

Anthony Joshua will face Daniel Dubois in an all-British heavyweight clash for the IBF world heavyweight title at Wembley Stadium on September 21, live on Sky Sports Box Office. This bout promises to be a thrilling encounter as both fighters have shown formidable skill and resilience in their recent matches.

The opportunity for Joshua to reclaim a world title comes after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the IBF belt earlier this week. Usyk’s decision means that Joshua can regain one of the world titles he previously held if he defeats Dubois. Dubois has been upgraded from IBF interim title holder to the IBF champion, setting the stage for a high-stakes battle.

Joshua has been on a mission to climb back up the heavyweight ranks after suffering two consecutive losses to Usyk. The Ukrainian outpointed Joshua in two fights spanning 2021 and 2022, leading to Usyk’s rise as the undisputed world champion. Joshua, however, has shown remarkable resilience in his comeback. He returned to the ring with a points win over Jermaine Franklin in 2023 and followed it up with stoppage victories over Robert Helenius and Otto Wallin later that year.

This year, Joshua showcased his power and precision by knocking out Francis Ngannou in just two rounds. Ngannou, a former UFC champion, had previously managed to go the 10-round distance with Tyson Fury in his first professional boxing bout, highlighting Joshua’s impressive performance. Joshua’s recent victories have demonstrated his determination to reclaim his place at the top of the heavyweight division.

Daniel Dubois, at 26 years old, has also been on a path of redemption after a loss to Usyk. Dubois challenged Usyk for the WBO, WBA, and IBF titles at the Wroclaw Stadium in Poland last August. Despite a valiant effort, Dubois was halted by Usyk in the ninth round after a controversial ruling involving a low blow. Dubois and his team still dispute this decision, believing it impacted the outcome of the fight.

Undeterred, Dubois went on to grind down Jarrell Miller in December and, earlier this month, stopped Filip Hrgovic to win the IBF interim strap. Dubois’ recent performances have solidified his status as a formidable contender in the heavyweight division.

The upcoming clash between Joshua and Dubois at Wembley Stadium is set to be a spectacular event, showcasing the best of British heavyweight boxing. With Joshua aiming to reclaim a world title and Dubois seeking to establish himself as a dominant force, fans can expect a fiercely competitive and electrifying fight. As both fighters prepare for this monumental bout, the anticipation and excitement continue to build, promising an unforgettable night of boxing action.
