Curry: We can not give in to losing spirit

Steph Curry insists the Warriors will not give in to losing spirit but find a way to get back to their best while LeBron James claims scoring 56 points is not as important has the winning.

Golden State Warriors star guard Steph Curry has stated that he and his team mates will not give into losing spirit.

The Golden State Warriors lost 126-116 to LeBron James Los Angeles Lakers last night.

They Warriors have lost four games in a row for the first time this season. They’ve dropped eight of their past 10 games. They’ve slid down to third in the Western Conference standings.

Speaking after the defeat Curry said: “We cannot give in to this losing mentality.

“We’re not that team, and I’m not going to let us be that team. … We cannot give in to this losing spirit of just finding different ways to lose basketball games.

“We have 18 games left, we have to figure out how to turn things around pretty quick.”

The Warriors coach Steve Kerr admits not taking their chance when they needed to which cost them in the game.

He added that they keep making mistakes which let team hang around and find their way to defeat them.

“I thought we had several chances to really break this game open,” head coach Steve Kerr said. “This has kind of been a pattern during this bad spell for us. We are not stepping on teams when they are down. We are making mistakes and allowing teams to hang around. And when you do that in this league, you’re dead.”

Curry further stated that they need to find a way get themselves out of the rough situation they are in now.

“It’s rough right now,” Curry said. “Keeping it plain and simple, it’s rough. We’ve got to find a way to claw our way out because obviously, you’ve seen in the last four games, it’s self-inflicted wounds.

“If the playoffs started tomorrow, we would be in some trouble.”

Meanwhile Lakers LeBron James scored 56 points for the Lakers against the Warriors which makes it the highest scoring game with the Lakers.

Speaking after the game James claims he didn’t care about scoring the huge points but the win was vital for him.

“Our guys were following me off the floor tonight going into the locker room and they asked me, ‘How does it feel to score 56?'” James said. “I said, ‘Right now, I don’t give a damn about the 56. I’m just happy we got a win.’ That’s just literally the first thing that came to my mind.”
