Sean Dyche has stated that they need to find a way to operate against Chelsea as the Blues manager Thomas Tuchel will be without club captain Cesar Azpilicueta.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has stated that they need to find a way to operate against Chelsea as they prepare to host the Blues in the Premier League.

speaking ahead of the clash against Chelsea Dyche admits they are a strong side and insists to play against them they need to perform at top level.

“I think you certainly need to play well against these sorts of sides and in my experience, you must perform very well to win against these teams. We have been very good at that, and the players know they are and put in a top performance.

“They are a very strong outfit, so we must be realistic, but equally we have found ways of operating against them.

“We were strong against Manchester United in the second-half, strong against Liverpool, where we should have got something more out of it, and Tottenham, so we have the spirit and the mentality. The fans can understand that, especially when a bigger teams come to Turf Moor, these are the games for the players, where you’ve got to play well.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has stated that club skipper Cesar Azpilicueta remains a doubt for Burnley clash in the Premier League.

The Blues will travel away to Burnley today after they lost to Liverpool in the final of the Carabao Cup.

Speaking at his customary pre-match press conference ahead of the game, with members of the media in the room at Cobham for the first time in almost two years, the boss responded to questions about team news prior to our final training session of the week later today.

“We have no fresh injuries,” stated Tuchel. “I still have to talk to the fitness coaches and the doctors after this press conference.

“Azpi was not in training yesterday so this will be a bit too close unfortunately for him.”
