Manchester United are eyeing to bolster their squad with the signing of Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos.

Manchester United are weighing up a move for Benfica forward Goncalo Ramos as Erik Ten Hag seek to bolster his squad.

The 21-year-old has scored eight goals in 12 games for the Portuguese side so far this season, alerting United officials who are hunting for a forward.

According to reports from The Sun, United do not value the forward more than £25million, but have also made contact with the forward’s representatives.

New manager Erik ten Hag is believed to have his hands tied ahead of the January transfer window, with the Galzer family reportedly planning a quiet window after spending £230million in the summer.

However, it is believed that they will look to bring in a forward, with Cristiano Ronaldo still looking to leave the club and Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial currently injured.

Newcastle were also eyeing Ramos in the summer window as Eddie Howe’s side looked for a striker, but they instead signed Alexander Isak for £63million.

A Portugal U21 international, has scored 20 goals in 59 games for Benfica in total.

He’s set to move to a major European league soon, having continued his fine form into this year after scoring against Liverpool in last season’s Champions League quarterfinal, playing support to Reds summer signing Darwin Nunez.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are hoping they will be able to build on a good run of form after the international break after winning four games in a row – including victories against Liverpool and Arsenal – following back-to-back defeats at the start the season.
