Rashford: Mistakes need to be tidy up
The 3-2 Europa league victory over Omonia seems like a perfect response for United as Rashford believes mistakes need to be tidy up.
Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has stated that they need to tidy up making mistakes in games in order to get better.
Rashford scored twice and assisted Anthony Martial in the Europa League victory to Omonia Nicosia yesterday.
The Reds were behind in the first half of the game before Erik Ten Hag made changes during the break to change the game.
The 3-2 victory seems like the perfect response to Sunday’s derby defeat and Rashford says the Reds are focused on securing another positive result at Goodison Park come Sunday evening.
“Any game is the next opportunity to be better than your last, so we massively needed this after the weekend. To come here in difficult circumstances, it is a positive result for us, and we just need to tidy up the mistakes.
“We have to bounce back in the league now. We have to pick up points and keep trying to get as high up the table as we can really. It’s quite early on, and there’s a lot of breaks in the season this year, so it’s important we pick up points at every opportunity we can.”
Rashford, who has always been the preferred center forward by Erik Ten Hag in previous games replace Sancho on the left wing.
Speaking about the attacking options Rahsford said: “I think we have a lot of players in the squad that can play in a few different positions. It’s a big positive to have: if we have injuries and things like that, you never what can happen and you have to be at your best to play in whatever position is needed.
“I think, always, scoring goals is about confidence. It’s about being in front of goal, getting chances, creating chances and just being in and around the box,” he added. “That’s where I always score my goals, so I have to get in those areas and be more dangerous as often as I can.”
