Bukayo Saka suffered a right leg injury during England’s 2-1 defeat to Greece at Wembley, casting doubt on his availability for upcoming matches with both club and country.

Arsenal and England forward Bukayo Saka suffered a right leg injury during England’s 2-1 defeat to Greece at Wembley on Thursday. The 23-year-old was substituted in the 51st minute after appearing to struggle with discomfort in the back of his leg.

Saka was seen stretching and eventually sat down on the pitch following Greece’s opening goal by Vangelis Pavlidis. Chelsea’s Noni Madueke replaced him on the field.

England were already dealing with injuries to key players Harry Kane and Jack Grealish, though both are expected to return for England’s next match against Finland on Sunday. Saka’s status for the game remains uncertain, pending further assessment.

England interim head coach Lee Carsley said: “He’s being assessed. Obviously in the build-up to the first goal, you can see he felt something in his leg.”

Arsenal will also be concerned as their star winger might join club captain Martin Ødegaard on the sidelines. Ødegaard is currently recovering from an ankle injury sustained during international duty with Norway in September.

With a crucial Premier League fixture against Bournemouth on October 19, the Gunners will be anxiously awaiting updates on Saka’s condition. Arsenal are already dealing with several injury concerns as they aim to maintain their momentum in the Premier League campaign.
