Spurs set to secure Timo Werner loan deal
Tottenham Set to Secure Timo Werner on Six-Month Loan from RB Leipzig
Tottenham Hotspur is on the brink of finalizing a significant move, aiming to secure RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner on a six-month loan, ESPN sources confirm.
The potential return of the Germany international to the Premier League was initially reported by Sky Germany and is contingent on Werner passing a medical examination.
If all formalities are met, an official announcement regarding the loan deal could arrive early next week, providing Spurs with added firepower in their attacking lineup.
Manager Ange Postecoglou faces the absence of star forward Son Heung-Min due to his commitments at the Asian Cup with South Korea.
Werner’s potential arrival will offer Tottenham a versatile attacking option, as the German forward is capable of operating from the left wing or through the center, supplementing the team’s offensive capabilities.
Werner’s return to RB Leipzig from Chelsea in August 2022 for €20 million followed a challenging stint at Stamford Bridge, where he managed 23 goals across 89 appearances.
Despite his previous struggles, the 25-year-old, who boasts 57 caps for Germany, has encountered limited playing time this season under RB Leipzig’s manager Marco Rose, registering two goals in eight Bundesliga appearances.
Should the move materialize, Werner will compete for a spot in the Spurs’ lineup among established talents like Richarlison, Dejan Kulusevski, Bryan Gil, and Brennan Johnson.
His potential inclusion promises to inject fresh competition and depth into Tottenham’s attacking arsenal.
