Taylor Fritz won 4-6, 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 on Centre Court, setting up a quarter-final clash against Lorenzo Musetti. Fritz’s victory marked his second appearance in the Wimbledon last eight and his fourth Grand Slam quarter-final.

Zverev, aiming for his first Wimbledon quarter-final, dominated the first two sets without facing a break point. However, Fritz broke Zverev’s serve for the first time in the tournament during the third set, shifted momentum by winning the fourth set tiebreak, and secured a crucial break in the final set to clinch victory. Zverev, who wore a knee support after a slip in the previous round, struggled in the deciding set.

Fritz expressed his joy at the comeback, highlighting the significance of the victory on Centre Court. He noted that despite being down two sets, he believed he was playing well and was motivated to avoid a straight-sets defeat.

In the next round, Fritz will face the 25th-seeded Musetti, who reached his first Grand Slam quarter-final by defeating lucky loser Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard 4-6, 6-3, 6-3, 6-2. Musetti adapted well to overcome Mpetshi Perricard’s big serves and trick shots. Musetti, who celebrated his victory with emotion, acknowledged the support of his family and expressed his long-held dream of reaching this stage.

Additionally, Australian ninth seed Alex De Minaur secured his spot in the quarter-finals for the first time with a solid win over Arthur Fils on Court One.
