Taylor Leaves Colts Camp

Once more, Jonathan Taylor has left the Indianapolis Colts training camp due to a personal matter, as confirmed by the team on Wednesday.

The Colts granted Taylor permission to attend to this issue. Media sources have indicated that this absence is unrelated to his contract situation, despite the ongoing contract standoff between the All-Pro running back and the Colts.

After departing Indiana last week to receive further off-site treatment for his ankle injury, which he underwent surgery for in January, Taylor returned to training camp on Monday as anticipated. However, a new personal matter has arisen this week, as explained by the Colts.

“He is not currently with the team and his absence is excused,” the team’s statement read.

Taylor has been pursuing a contract extension from the Indianapolis team since before the training camp commenced. Following the Colts’ refusal to initiate discussions for a new deal, Taylor expressed his desire for a trade due to his deteriorating relationship with the team.

Currently, Taylor is listed as physically unable to perform and has not participated in any games since being placed on injured reserve in December. While Colts owner Jim Irsay publicly dismissed Taylor’s trade request, insider sources indicate that the team has not completely dismissed the idea of a potential trade.
