Ten Hag confirms Rashford and Martial availability for Magpies clash
Erik ten Hag is confident Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial will be fit for Sunday’s Premier League trip to Newcastle.
Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag has confirmed that his forwards Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial will be available for Newcastle United clash.
The 25-year-old is in the form of his life right now, having scored 19 goals in 25 appearances since his impressive World Cup showing.
Rashford missed England’s March internationals against Italy and Ukraine with a knock picked up in the FA Cup quarter-final win against Fulham just before the international break.
The forward returned to individual training this week and Ten Hag is expecting to be able to call upon him at St James’ Park.
“I’ve good hope,” he said. “He trained but he had to do some treatment, he had to do some individual training.
“Today he joined in with the group. We have one more day, so I have a good hope he is available, yeah. I think so.”
Martial has been managing a hip problem in the meantime, but he has been working hard in training during the international break and Ten Hag hopes he can be among the players who travel to the north-east for what is an important fixture in the race for the top four.
“He is training. So, for two weeks now,” Ten Hag told reporters at Carrington on Friday.
“I think he can be in the squad for Sunday.”
