A close confidant of Victor Osimhen has disclosed that the talented striker is eager to make a swift exit from Napoli due to an ongoing disagreement with the club.

A close associate of Victor Osimhen has revealed that the striker is eager to part ways with Napoli at the earliest opportunity due to a dispute with the club.

Reports suggest that Chelsea and Arsenal are closely monitoring Osimhen’s situation. His discontent with Napoli stems from social media posts that seemingly ridiculed him following a missed penalty.

Osimhen, who had an exceptional season last year, tallying 31 goals and five assists in 39 matches to help Napoli clinch the Serie A title, has attracted considerable attention from clubs across Europe due to his outstanding performance.

In response to the disrespectful posts, Osimhen has distanced himself from the club by removing all images of himself in a Napoli kit from his Instagram account.

Oma Akatugba, a trusted friend and journalist from Nigeria, insists that Osimhen is now determined to depart Napoli due to the online disrespect.

“It’s incredible that your club’s official account makes fun of you for a missed penalty,” he said, as quoted by Italian outlet Sport Mediaset.

“Now what are the consequences? That Napoli will lose Victor Osimhen.

“He will not renew his contract and will want to leave as soon as possible.

“I say this as a journalist, I don’t speak for him, I only say what is inevitable. Osimhen will leave as soon as possible, no team makes fun of its best player.

“I don’t believe that we are talking about racism and I don’t believe that Napoli are, but it is a shame, unacceptable, a great lack of respect, it is ridiculous and it is a gross mistake.

“We are talking about the best striker in Italy, candidate for the Ballon d’Or and the best player in Serie A.”

Osimhen’s contract in Naples expires in 2025 and while an extension has been discussed, it is claimed those talks never really amounted to anything, leaving the door open for an interested club to swoop in.
