Tuchel on dealing with nervous situation
Thomas Tuchel says he is ready to deal with the nervous situation of his team following their draw against Wolves.
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel insists on dealing with his team nervous situation in order to finish strong this season.
The Blues lost 2 points against a determined Wolves side despite having 2 goals lead at Stamford bridge.
The Blues have given hope to Arteta’s Arsenal to overtake them on the league table as the fellow London club are few points behind them.
“We have made things more and more difficult for ourselves, and it’s quite a lot to overcome to be ready for Leeds.
“It’s not the first time we have conceded such a late goal, especially in home matches, but we have to deal with it. We have to digest it. We have to overcome it, even if that feels very difficult at the moment.”
The German asked his players to be more physical before the game following their defeat to Everton last time.
Tuchel further stated that he saw that in the game but pinpoint they struggled to execute the match plan from the start to the end of the game.
“We gave everything, but the decisions we took, when to take risks, how to read a game, how to be disciplined, we are struggling in that, and I don’t know why,” admitted the boss.
“We are struggling to execute the match plan from the first to the last minute, and on top of it we are getting punished.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta admits the draw feels like a defeat to them and they are very disappointed for what happened in the last minutes of the game.
“It feels like a loss,” admitted Azpilicueta afterwards.
“To lose two points like this in the last minute is very disappointing. Even in the first half we conceded a few counter-attacks where they could have scored.
“We used to be a very solid team, defending together. We didn’t make mistakes. Sometimes we have given goals away by ourselves. It’s very disappointing, very frustrating.
“We are putting ourselves in a difficult position. We shouldn’t be here, we were in a much better position five games ago, but we are here, and now we need to get points if we want to finish in the Champions League places.”
